The only electrically driven mobility product permitted
for use by the disabled and elderly to be driven on Shabbat and
Holidays.
Two outstanding Torah authorities in Jerusalem approached the Zomet*
Institute in order to devise the technical solutions to permit the
use of electric scooters on Shabbat. Their study has resulted in
the development of this unique heavy-duty electric scooter.
Before Shabbat, use the regular key which activates lights, indicators
and horn. On Shabbat, use the Shabbat Scooter key. Within twenty
seconds the green light will flicker twice, and the Shabbat Scooter
will begin to move slowly. At this point the Shabbat Scooter can
be driven using the accelerator lever.
